When Loyalty Dies

What is loyalty and why do we feel it? 
The dictionary defines loyalty as “the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations”. Loyal is defined as “faithful to any leader, party, or cause, or to any person or thing conceived as deserving fidelity”. ( 
And here we have it, the stipulation that loyalty is given to those who or that which deserve it. This makes loyalty something very personal, something subjective. 
You keep your best friend’s secret because trust between you is absolute and it is you and them against the world. You support your mates through thick and thin because you trust each other and they will do the same for you. You read everything an author has written because you once liked one of their novels and trust
